About the band

Massive attack is one of the most influential an innovative groups of their generation. The successful band is commonly known and associated with through their wide range of music styles, from punk to reggae to R&B, so many people could enjoy their different music styles heightening the band's popularity on a massive scale. The English group formed in 1988 in Bristol released their debut album 'blue lines' in 1991 which included their extremely successful single 'unfinished sympathy'. Since this point, the band has gone on to gain multiple achievements throughout their career such as receiving a Brit Award as well as selling over 11 million copies worldwide.  

Blue Lines- The Album

Blue Lines is the name of the bands debut studio album which was released on their Wild Bunch label through virgin records in 1991. A remastered version of the album was released on the 19th November 2012. The album was stated by music critics to mark a change in electronic/dance movement, it went on to reach No. 13 on the UK Albums chart

Unfinished Sympathy- The song / video

The music video for the hit song 'Unfinished Sympathy' was directed by Baillie Walsh, it is a one continuous shot filmed on West Pico boulevard in Los Angeles, California. it features Shara Nelson walking along a sidewalk, indifferent and oblivious to her surroundings, which include drunks, gangs an bikers.

Baillie Walsh is a famous music video and film director linked with directing the hit single, Massive Attack. He was able to capture the everyday surroundings in a natural setting by filming the video in just one shot.
