Statement of Intent

Media theoretical framework:

-Media language- conventions of products

-Media audience- target audience

-Media representation- How the message is constructed about groups of people and how the audience relate to these constructions.

-Media Industries- The companies behind the products, the legal considerations and how profit is generated by the products. Considerations relating to cross media platforms and where products will appear as part of the campaign.

My Statement of Intent

One of the most significant aspects about the products I'm producing is the fact that they are made ethically via fair-trade... this is why it is crucial that I showcase my brand as a contemporary company by not only focusing on the stylish and trendy pieces, but also the morally correct way they have been produced. I will be presenting and promoting my brand by displaying the clothing on the two billboards.

Both of my billboards will follow a similar theme when promoting the different products... this consists of black and white scenic photos (outdoors in a suitable ad naturalistic environment), however, my model will be the only feature displayed in colour. This will draw all the audiences attention on the model herself and of course more importantly the clothes she is wearing. It is essential that the clothing is getting the most emphasis on because the brands key message wants the customer to understand the importance of fair-trade and how the fashion items were made.

The first billboard will be a full length shot of the model outdoors where she will be looking to the side (her face not fully revealed) because less emphasis will be on the model herself and instead, focus on the clothing. The models clothing needs to be bright, vibrant and bold in order to fully contrast against the black and white photos. Secondly, the other billboard will have the model sitting within a tree, again, wearing eye-catching colours to highlight the importance of the clothing. The reason why both photo are taken outside is linked with the fact most fair-trade workers work in the outdoors... the photoshoot could be identified as displaying their working environment.

The overall aim is to persuade customers to always buy the products from fair-trade companies where the clothes are produced in an ethnically correct way (as appose to brands like primark), therefore, my brands target audience is initially aimed at everyone, however, the two billboards produced will be focusing on targeting an audience of individuals who are around 15-30. I have chosen to target this  age range as statistics show that younger people focus less on the way their clothes are produced and purchase items mainly based on current trends and price. This is why our brands clothing will not only be keeping up with latest fashion trends, it will also be sold at an affordable price as we have considered younger people may be earning less of an income.

The reason I am using billboards to promote the clothing brand is because it is the largest outdoor advertisement so it will be seen by many and draw attention to the brand. It is essential that the logo is on clear display on both billboards so it can become more identified and familiar with the pubic. It is crucial that the brand can become well established so individuals can understand the importance of supporting fair-trade products.

Artist Representation Mood Board

Promotional Photography

Promotional Photography- My Images 3) This first image portrays the artist to be a strong and confident individual as he is directly looking into the camera- this alters the mood and style of the shot in comparison to 'Shot 2' as it creates more intimacy with the viewer of the shot, almost as if he is looking directly at them.          2) This image taken shows my artist holding a guitar as a prop- this is significant as it links with the musical element and adds to the overall theme of creating music. It emphases his interest and dedication as an artist himself and matches the genre.   3) Unlike some of the other various images taken, this particular shot has been taken with much 'softer' lighting. This means it appears to be much more smooth and consistent with fewer shadows. This effect works well considering the artist is wearing a white top so it blends much better with the background. However, the colour of the guitar still breaks up the sho
